About Center of Hope CBO
Transforming lives of underprivileged and orphaned children in Rangwe Sub-county, Homabay County, Kenya.

Who We Are
The Center of Hope Community-Based Organization (CBO) was founded in 2020 in response to the pressing needs of underprivileged and orphaned children in Rangwe sub-county, Homabay County, Kenya.
The organization emerged from the collective vision of community leaders, educators, and social workers who were deeply concerned about the challenges facing vulnerable children, particularly girls, during the post-COVID-19 period. We were formally registered in 2023.
Rangwe sub-county, like many parts of Homabay County, has long struggled with high levels of poverty, limited access to education, and socio-cultural practices that often marginalize girls and women. These challenges are compounded by the high prevalence of HIV/AIDS, which has left many children orphaned and in desperate need of support.
Initially, the organization focused on small-scale interventions, such as providing school supplies, uniforms, and meals to orphaned and vulnerable children. As the organization grew, so did its scope and impact. By 2024, the Center of Hope CBO had expanded its programs to include vocational training for women and youth, health and hygiene education, and community awareness campaigns on the importance of educating girls.
Today, the Center of Hope CBO is embarking on its most ambitious project: the establishment of a school dedicated to underprivileged and orphaned children, with a special focus on the girl child. This school will not only provide quality education but also serve as a center for holistic development, offering spiritual and moral guidance, life skills training, and comprehensive support services.
